Yes. Artificial intelligence is now part of how music is made, and we welcome it. Each program, however, comes with different tools: some of them, like radio and press, require a human voice.

We use the categories recognised internationally by the music industry.

• Human-made: a track made without artificial intelligence.
• AI-assisted: AI is a tool in the creative process (production, mixing, mastering, arrangement, lyrics or melody), but there is meaningful human authorship behind the track.
• Fully AI-generated: a track generated entirely by AI.
• Human vocals / AI vocals: the lead vocal is sung by a person, or it is generated or synthesised by AI. A human voice cloned or transformed with AI counts as AI vocals.

• PLAYLIST is open to every track, including Fully AI-generated ones. The weekly dashboard, actions, your dedicated contact and Support Exchange PRO work the same way for everyone. For tracks with AI vocals or Fully AI-generated tracks, radio and chart placement is not guaranteed: our Artistic Panel reviews each track individually.
• PUNK, FACCIO UN CASINO and MAINSTREAM are reserved for tracks with human vocals. These programs include pitching to radio stations and press outlets, which do not air or review tracks with AI-generated vocals: we couldn’t deliver the result you’re buying them for.

A radio station is not a playlist. People listening to Radio Indieffusione should be able to recognise every track by its voice: a timbre, a breath, a way of phrasing that belongs to one person only. That variety is what keeps a radio schedule alive.

AI-generated voices come from the same models and tend to resemble each other: the same polish, the same perfect pitch, the same sheen. One track on its own can work, but played one after another in the same schedule they create a homogeneous stream of sound. It feels like the same singer is always singing, and the station starts to sound like one long playlist where everything is the same. For listeners that means monotony; for artists who really sing it means losing space and recognisability.

We’re not the only ones who see it this way. In 2025 iHeartMedia, the largest radio network in the US, decided that every voice aired on its stations must be human (“Guaranteed Human”): according to their research, 90% of people prefer content made by humans. A meta-analysis published in 2026, covering 19 studies, measured a homogenisation effect in creative work made with generative AI. A study from ETH Zurich found that music generators tend to pull even local genres towards a mainstream style. Meanwhile, on Deezer more than half of the tracks uploaded every day are now fully AI-generated: that’s exactly why a station that wants to help people discover artists has to protect human voices.
